Passion, experience and entrepreneurial drive…

In 1975, Andrew and Judy Menceles founded Cosmoda Corporation as a distribution company offering well-recognized gift and fashion accessory brands from the USA, Europe and Japan, which soon became best-sellers at major department and specialty retailers.  

In 1984, Cosmoda acquired exclusive distribution rights for SWATCH watches in Canada. With expanded distribution networks, many more globally renowned watch brands were soon added.  In that same year, Cosmoda moved its headquarters to its current 48,000 sq. ft. office and distribution centre. 

In 1993, Cosmoda’s focus changed to the product development and marketing of licensed brands for both watches and lifestyle accessories.  Cosmoda signed its first licensing agreement with ROOTS, to develop a world class line of fashion watches for international distribution.  Over the next 15 years, Cosmoda acquired licensing rights to many more internationally recognized brands, including ELLE, Buffalo, Dickies, and Mario Batali.

The next phase in the company’s evolution rolled out in 2005 with the successful launch of Cosmoda’s first proprietary brand, KOKO, with distribution in the USA and internationally. 

From distribution to licensing to branding, over the past 35 years Cosmoda has established itself as a trusted designer, manufacturer, marketer and distributor of lifestyle accessories and watches.

Today, Cosmoda is an international licensing and product development corporation. Our head office in Toronto handles design, marketing as well as sales functions, while manufacturing and quality control resides in the Hong Kong office. Our distribution centers in Buffalo, N.Y. and Toronto, Ontario handle our North American supply chain, while our Hong Kong office coordinates international deliveries from Asia.

The company's future is directed towards developing world-class products for new licenses and proprietary brands.
