Why we care about the planet?

At Cosmoda, we are working towards a brighter future together with our customers, communities, shareholders and employees. In every aspect of our operations, from product shipments to office supplies to developing eco-friendly products and packaging, we look to reduce waste, conserve energy, and minimize use of resources. 

Cosmoda, along with our family of brands, place great importance on being an environmentally responsible corporate citizen and we are continuing to develop products, packaging and business practices that help create a better future for our planet.

Leading an environmentally conscious lifestyle is an integral part of Cosmoda’s philosophy and we have incorporated this philosophy into all our lunch bag collections.

We encourage our customers to say no to plastic bags. Throw-away or make-shift lunch bags that pile up in the landfills are no longer an option! Insulated, reusable lunch bags help reduce plastic bag consumption and unnecessary packaging often associated with packing your lunch.

Plant the Future
Cosmoda is proud to partner with TreeCanada Foundation for the Plant the Future campaign. TreeCanada Foundation promotes public awareness, education, and community action for the planting and caring of trees. With the purchase of any of the watches in the ROOTS Natural Inspirations Collection, a portion of the proceeds are used to plant a forest by TreeCanada.

How our products are green friendly?

Cosmoda is continually developing eco-friendly products. We have directed our product development team to think “green” when designing and developing new watches and lifestyle accessories. We have recently introduced the following eco-friendly products:

• ELLE Recycled PET Insulated Lunch Bags
• PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is the most common plastic used to make bottles for soft drinks and other consumer products. Recycling PET keeps billions of containers out of landfills and oceans.
• Did you know? 6 PET bottles were used to make 1 ELLE lunch bag!

• ROOTS Eco Automatic Watches
• ROOTS Eco Automatic watches are mechanical watches which run on clean, natural energy – wrist power – eliminating the need for batteries and promoting environmental sustainability. These superior quality time pieces wind themselves “automatically” as a result of the wearer’s arm motion.

Other Green Initiatives

• We print all our catalogues on recycled paper
• Long life mercury free batteries are used in all ROOTS and BUFFALO watches
• All leather bands in the ROOTS and BUFFALO lines are PCP and AZO free
• All lunch bags are lead safety tested

Lead Safety Dectection Protocol
Cosmoda upholds strict quality control and safety standards by enforcing a Lead Safety Detection Protocol that ensures all lunch bags are PVC free and meet FDA and CPSC lead safety standards for the USA and all applicable Canadian and international standards.
